SOUTH BEND - Shirley Ann Hughes, 71, of South Bend, died
in her home on Wednesday August 27, 2008. She was born in
Mishawaka on November 10, 1936 to James & Edna (Zook) Brogdon
who preceded her in death. Shirley was also preceded in death by
her husband Arthur Hughes, two sisters and two brothers. She is
survived by four daughters, Diana (Bob Baum) Everts, of
Mishawaka, Gladys Carroll of South Bend, Gail (Bill) Hallendy
of New Baltimore, Michigan, Carolyn (Jack) Wickizer of
South Bend, a son John (Becky) Robertson of South Bend,
fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also
survived by four brothers, Earl Brogdon of Elkhart, James Brogdon
Jr., George Brogdon and Walter Brogdon all of Mishawaka. Shirley
Ann retired as a waitress from Robertsons following twenty-five
years of service. She was an Antique Dealer and enjoyed
collecting antique glass.
Friends may spend time with the family on
Saturday August 30, 2008 at Bubb Funeral Chapel from noon to 1pm
where a memorial service will be held at 1pm with Rev. Ervin Mize
officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph
