Sister Mary Benildes CSC, died Thursday morning in St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend, after a brief illness. She was born Mary Hughes in San Francisco in 1878. She was educated in St. Charles School there and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1900; received the habit the same year; and made her profession of final vows in 1906.For a year of her community life she was stationed in South Bend. Until three years ago she served on various missions for the Western Province. She retired to the motherhouse a few years ago. Surviving is a sister, Sister Mary Olga CSC, of St. Theresa’s in Boise, Idaho.
