Obituary for GERALD MARION HUGHEY

Gerald Marion Hughey 78, of 500 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka died at 5:45 a.m. today
in Fort Myers Community Hospital, in Fort Myers, Fla., following a brief illness.
He was formerly employed with Riverside Tool and Die, Mishawaka. He was born on
Feb. 13, 1904 in Fremont Indiana and lived in the South Bend/Mishawaka area most of his life.
In 1928 he married Alice Virginia Harrison who preceded him in death. In 1953 he married
Marie Sater who also preceded him in death. In 1976 he married Mary Ruddick Valentine who
survives. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Blair of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two sons,
Charles J. Hughey of Mishawaka, Indiana and Gary L. Hughey of Victorville, Calif.; seven
grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Margaret Shireman of Sherwood,
Oregon; and a brother, Fred Hughey of Palm beach, Fla. Cremation is to take place in Florida. Memorial sevices will be conducted at a later date at the Bubb Funeral Home in Mishawaka. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetary in Mishawaka. Mr. Hughey was a member of the Greytops Music group playing the Banjo and Guitar. He also won the 1976 George Award given by the Mishawaka Enterprise for his contributions to senior citizens in the South Bend/Mishawaka area.
