Doris K. Hullinger: (South Bend Tribune 9/23/2000)

Doris K. Hullinger, 75, of W. Edison Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away in her home at 9:50  a.m. on Wednesday Sept. 20. She was born on June 16, 1925, to the late Michael and Mary (Robaska) Platts in South Bend. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Platts. She was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Hullinger was a homemaker and former seamstress for both Mary Mellow and Gloria Parker Interior Decorators. Mrs. Hullinger was a member of the Elbel Nine Holes at Elbel Municipal Golf Course in South Bend for several years. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. On Feb. 21, 1948, as Doris K. Platts, she married Ray C. Hullinger in South Bend. He survives along with a daughter, Heather D. Kline of South Bend. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 23, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 535 W. Edison Unit #6, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
