James T. Hullinger

SOUTH BEND - James T. Hullinger, 74, of South Bend, passed away at 3:55 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008, in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend. Jim was born on February 5, 1934, the son of Henry E. and Alta L. (Roush) Hullinger. He had been a lifelong resident, living in the same house in North Liberty for over 50 years and wintering in Largo, FL, for the past 14 years.

 

On December 3, 1960, in South Bend, he married Diana Lee Nemeth. Along with his wife of 47 years, Diana, survivors include his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lynn and Wanda Nemeth of South Bend, and his nephew, Neil Nemeth of Munster, IN, and many cousins. Mr. Hullinger served his country with the United States Army, was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the VFW, both of North Liberty. He was a member of the North Liberty Masonic Lodge 266, F&AM where he served as Past Master. Jim was also a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Orak Shrine of Michigan City, Royal Order of Jesters, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 290, North Liberty, the Four Lake Country Club in Adamsville, MI, and the Elks Lodge in Seminole, FL. Jim retired in 1993 from the Allied Signal Corp. after 21 years of service.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, July 2, 2008, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Entombment will follow. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. There will be no public visitation. Private viewing will take place. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of James T. Hullinger may be donated to the Shrine Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707.
