Lavaun Hunt

WALKERTON - Lavaun (Jasinski) Hunt, 87, of Walkerton, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, in LaPorte Regional Hospital. Lavaun was born on July 11, 1922, in Walkerton, to Orville and Norma (Tinkey) Gensinger. Mrs. Hunt was a lifelong Walkerton resident. She was employed at Nick's Supermarket and the Mini Shoppe, retiring in 1982. On May 29, 1941, in South Bend, she married Walter T. Jasinski, who preceded her in death on January 10, 1976. On June 11, 1983, she married Elmer E. Hunt in North Liberty. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1987. Lavaun was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Betz. Mrs. Hunt is survived by her sister, Mrs. Doris Eldridge of LaPorte; son-in-law, Keith Betz of South Bend; grandson, Kyle (Natalie) Betz of Lafayette; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Betz; two nieces, Judy Blair of Dayton, OH, and Stacy Parker of Michigan City; and a nephew, Carl "CB" Johnson of LaPorte. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 1 p.m. (EST) in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, 408 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton, with Pastor Carol Pfeiffer officiating. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services in
the funeral home.
