James E. Hurwich

Aug 25, 1926 – Nov 27, 2004

James E. Hurwich, 78, of South Bend passed away on Saturday, Nov. 27 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Aug, 25, 1926 in South Bend to Samuel and Rollo Hurwich.  Along with his family, he owned and operated Hurwich Iron Works in South Bend for many years.  Mr. Hurwich was a lifetime member of temple Beth-El.

Survivors include his daughter, Stacey MacDonald of Niles, Mich.; his sons Jeffry Michael Hurwich of Buchanan, Mich., and Scott David Hurwich of Greeley, Colo.; three grandchildren, Casey, Shaye, and Kalli; his sister, Rosanne Morris of South Bend; and his brother, Charles P. Hurwich of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held today, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home where Rabbi Steve Leapman will officiate.  Burial will be in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mishawaka.  There will be no visitation.
