Ruth Huston

 April 21, 1923 - April 7, 2010
NEW CARLISLE - Ruth Huston, 86, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in her home with her family by her side. Ruth was born on April 21, 1923, in Francesville, IN, to the late Leslie and Bernadine Margaret (Ahler) Coffel. On December 9, 1950, she married Kenneth P. Huston Sr., who preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, James Coffel and Raymond Coffel; and by her sister, Mary Hope Coffel. She is survived by her children, Shelia A. (Michael) Cover of Rolling Prairie, Cindy (James) Gadacz of North Liberty and Kenny P. (Kimberly) Huston Jr. of New Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Andréa and Adrian Cover, Brandon (Staci) Gadacz, Casandra and Keith Gadacz, Kristina and Kenny Huston; a sister, Phyllis (Noble) Heyde of Bremen; and by her brother, Glen (Betty) Eldridge of Francesville, IN. Ruth worked for Bendix and then for New Prairie High School in the cafeteria. She was a parishioner for St. Stanislaus Kostka, Terre Coupe. She was known for her excellent baking and cooking, enjoyed gardening and yard work. Ruth loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010, in St. Stanislaus Kostka, Terre Coupe. Visitation will also be from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday morning in the funeral home prior to the Mass. Burial will follow the Mass at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
