Emery J. Huszar

Aug. 20, 1919 - March 14, 1998

Emery J. Huszar, 78, died after a short illness on Saturday, March 14, in his home in Ocala, Fla.

Born in South Bend, Ind., he married the former Mary C. Chapo on March 2, 1946. They resided in South Bend until 1981, when they moved to Ocala.

He is survived by his wife, Mary C. of Ocala; three children, Mary Kay Huszar of South Bend, Michael J. (Mary E.) of South Bend and Anthony S. (Laura) of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; and by two grandsons, Jason of San Diego, Calif., and Jack of Pleasant Hill.

Emery was a 20-year member of the South Bend firefighters, retiring in 1968. He also retired in 1981 from the former St. Joseph Abstract & Title Corporation.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1199 in Ocala; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4493, Ocala; and Knights of Columbus 5960 of Ocala. While living in South Bend he was a charter member of the Calvert Rod & Gun Club, the American Legion, Elks Lodge 235 and St. Matthew Cathedral.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services or visitation.
