Sister Monica Marie CSC, 82, of St. Mary’s Convent, died at 6:50 a.m. today in the convent after a lengthy illness. She was assigned to Saint Mary’s Academy and Saint Mary’s College as a music teacher. She also was assigned to teaching positions in Illinois and Utah. She was born Mary Monica Hynds on May 4, 1901 in Morris, Ill. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s in 1921. Survivors include four brothers, Douglas and George Hynds of Morris. Thomas Hynds of Newport Richey, Fla. and Edward Hynds of Champaign, Ill.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Loretto Church and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Convent Parlors and friends may call there Saturday and Sunday.
