Evelyn L. Iden, 89, of 500 Lincoln Way East, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003, in Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart, Ind.

Evelyn was born on Sept. 2, 1913, in Wawaka, Ind., to Harley and Adeline (Eby) Inks.

 

She was a former co-owner of Iden Restaurant in Wolf Lake, Ind., and also worked for Essex Wire in Ligonier, Ind.

 

Evelyn was also a member of Kimmel United Methodist Church.

On Sept. 26, 1931, in Wawaka, as Evelyn L. Inks she married Ray A. Iden. Ray preceded her in death on March 20, 1999.

 

Evelyn is survived by three daughters; Shirley (Duane) Coe of Columbia City, Ind., Sharon (Lloyd) Waller of Findley, Ohio, and Sandra (Robert) Pherson of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Jerry (Lois) Iden of Mishawaka; one sister, Kathryn Miller of Goshen, IN.; one brother, Howard Inks of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 26 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two daughter-in-laws, Shirley Iden of Mishawaka and Donna Iden of Churubusco, Ind.

She was preceded by two sons, Alfred and Robert Iden, five sisters, one brother, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

 

Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2003, with Pastor Bob Siegrist officiating. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. at Indian Village Cemetery, Cromwell, Ind.
