SOUTH BEND - Theresa Illes, 88, of
Transitional Healthcare Center, formerly of Sundown Road, died at
6:55 p.m. Sunday in the nursing home. Mrs. Illes was born April
12, 1905, in Ada, Hungary, and lived in South Bend since 1920,
coming from Hungary.
On April 18, 1925, in South Bend, as Theresa
Martonsi, she married Joseph Illes. He died in 1972. She
is survived by a daughter, Yolanda E. Illes of South Bend; a son,
Joseph P. of South Bend; three grandsons; five great-grandsons;
and a brother, Joseph Martonsi of North Palm Beach, Fla. She was
a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the
church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call
from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Homes Inc. Memorial
contributions may be made to the church.
