David William Inwood

SOUTH BEND - Mr. David William Inwood, 80, passed away following an illness at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. He was born on Oct. 10, 1927, in South Bend, to Paul B and Jessie (Marble) Inwood.

 

On Jan. 20, 1951, in South Bend, he married Kathryn Goodman, who survives of South Bend. David was the owner of the former Inwood's Department Store. He was a proud Army veteran who served in Japan at war's end. While attending IU, he started the chapter Pi Kappa Alpha. Other survivors include two daughters, Mary (Michael) Krusniak and Patricia Ann Doberneck, both of Indianapolis; two sons, Paul G. (Andrea) Inwood of South Bend and John D. (Vicki) Inwood of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Mondecar of Atlanta. Two brothers preceded him in death, James and Kenneth Inwood.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Friday in St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami St. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. in McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Forest G. Hay Chapel, 435 S. Ironwood Drive at Jefferson. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the American Cancer Society.
