Emma J. Ivory, 63, of Parry Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, in Memorial Hospital. She was member of Antioch M.B. Church under the guidance of Rev. Lee H. Montgomery where she attended regularly. She graduated form Bolivar Industrial High School in 1961, and attended Ivy Tech College in 1972 in CNA training in South Bend.

She worked at Memorial Hospital as a PCA for many years until her health prevented her from working.

 

She leaves four sisters, Maxine (George) Perry, Betty (Curtis) Walker, Debra Ivory of Bolivar, Tenn., and Chestine Pope of South Bend; three brothers, W.T. Ivory and Luther (Felecia) Ivory of Bolivar, and Charles Ivory of Benton Harbor, Mich.; many nieces and nephews; one special great-niece, Demecia Pruitt of Bolivar; one aunt, Louise Willis of Bolivar; many cousins and friends; and two special friends, Lou Cropes of South Bend and Eula Mae Blake of Middleton, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

 

Services for Ms. Emma J. Ivory will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West. Final funeral services and burial will take place Friday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Dixie Funeral Home, 750 Bills Street, Bolivar, TN 38008. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in the Mount Olive M.B. Church, with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will follow funeral services at the Jordan Cemetery, Bolivar. The Dixie Funeral Home is handling the Tennessee arrangements. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with local services.
