Leo W. Janowiak: (South Bend Tribune 8/26/1969)

Leo W. Janowiak, 70, of 217 Pagin St., died at 7:15 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness of four months. He retired in 1964 after 40 years with the Studebaker Corp., and was an usher at Notre Dame for 40 years. He was born on March 30, 1899, in South Bend. His wife, Severena, died March 10, 1951. Surviving are a son Ronald, of South Bend, with whom he resided recently; a brother, Stanley, and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Hechlinski and Mrs. Helen Jedrzejewski, all of South Bend. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, 3402 Lincoln Way W. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholich Church with Rev. Casimir S. Grabarz, C.S.C., officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
