Severina Janowiak: (South Bend Tribune 3/12/1951)

Mrs. Sylvia (Severina) Janowiak. Of 217 North Pagin street, died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday in her home after an illness of three months. She was born in South Bend Sept. 12, 1899, and had lived here all her life. She was married as Miss Sylvia Jedrzejewski on June 4, 1928, in St. Hedwige’s Catholic church, to Leo Janowiak, who survives. Also surviving are a son Ronald, at home; three brothers, Edward, of New Carlisle, this county; Henry and Harold, both of South Bend; and a sister, Mrs. Lottie Poznanski, of South Bend. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today in the home. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stanislaus Catholic church with Rev. Sigmund A. Jankowski, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Polish cemetery. Mrs. Janowiak was a member of St. Bernice’s society No. 831, Polish Roman Catholic union, of St. Hedwige’s church.
