Theresa I. Jasiewicz

Theresa I. Jasiewicz, 77, of Ebeling Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2:10 a.m. Monday, July 30, in the Hospice House, South Bend. Theresa was born April 7, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Louis and Rose (Katona) Horvath.

 

On Sept. 7, 1946, as Theresa Horvath, she married Stanley W. Jasiewicz in South Bend. Stanley passed away in December 1977. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Jasiewicz; and by a daughter, Mary Jasiewicz. Mrs. Jasiewicz retired from the Mishawaka School System in 1985, after 20 years of service. She was the manager of food services for Bingham, North Side and Mary Phillips schools, and also worked part-time at Notre Dame for the Quarterback Club luncheons. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, and was a member of Friends of the Library.

 

Theresa is survived by four daughters, Christina (Terry) Parman of Decatur, Mich., Linda (Carl) Wiedlocher of Las Cruces, N.M., Victoria (Kent) Achterberg of Osceola, Ind., and Sandra (Roger) Rose of Rochester, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and by two brothers, Louis (Weddad) Horvath and Steve (Martha) Horvath, both of South Bend.

 

Services will be at noon Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Library, 209 Lincoln Way East, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
