Gertrude A. Jedrzjewski: (South Bend Tribune 4/22/2004)

Gertrude A. Jedrzejewski, 92, of East Madison Street in South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, April 21, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Gertrude was born on Sept. 16, 1911, in South Bend, to Joseph and Stella (Deranek) Jaworski. On Feb. 25, 1930, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Gertrude married Henry F. Jedrzejewski, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1989. She was a homemaker and had been employed by the former Wilson Brothers Shirt Factory. Surviving is a son, Eugene (Nancy) Jedrzejewski of South Bend; grandchildren, Randolph (Ginny) Jedrzejewski of Clinton, Pa., Marjorie (Peter) O'Connor of North Royalton, Ohio, Kim (Bernie) Roberts of Granger, Ind., Michael (Vickie) Green of Vicksburg, Mich., and Tami (Roy Bradberry) Green of Mishawaka, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Kristen O'Connor, Lauren O'Connor, Michael Aller, Leslie Aller, Kyle Green and Michael Green; and a great-great-granddaughter, Haylea Jo. A brother, Arthur (Irene) Deranek, also survives.

She was also preceded in death by sons, Richard and Gerald; sisters, Helen Kowalski and Irene Andrzejewski; and by brothers, Jerome and Frank Jaworski. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 23, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Gertrude was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish, the Altar and Rosary Society, Apostleship of Prayer and the Harvest House. She was also a member of the Harvest House of Holy Cross Parish, the St. Hedwig Golden Cluster and the Civic Club, and Hoosier Grandmothers of Indiana.
