Howard Jerome

Aug. 30, 1933 - Sept. 10, 1999

Mr. Howard Jerome of North Wilber Street, South Bend, Indiana, expired at 2:55 p.m. Friday, September 10, 1999 at Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center after a two year illness.

In Forest City, Arkansas, he was born to the union of Jerome and Ruby (Troope) Williams on August 30, 1933. Twenty-eight years ago, Mr. Jerome moved to South Bend from Chicago, Illinois.

 

In 1971, in Chicago, he and Margaret Jenkins were united in marriage. He was a self-employed cook.

His memory will be cherished by his wife, Margaret; five daughters, Gwendolyn Moore of Jacksonville, Fla., Anna (Carl) Kimble, Sherry (Shawn) Jones, Ruby Jenkins and Zorina Jerome, all of South Bend; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Iola Williams of Forest City, Arkansas; nine sisters, Claudine Gordon, Laverne (James) Alexander and Mary Moton, all of Chicago, Illinois, Velma Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas, Joyce Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, Pauline Daniels, Carolyn Jackson, Rita Phillips and Jean Williams, all of Forest City, Arkansas; seven brothers, General (Annie) Williams, Billy (Paulette) Williams, Edward Williams, Carl Williams and Richard Williams, all of Forest City, John D. (Elnora) James of Gary, Indiana and David James of Little Rock, Arkansas; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

 

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday at Alford's Mortuary where friends may call one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
