Annabelle Jewell

SOUTH BEND - Annabelle Jewell, 89, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 7th, in her home after an extended illness. Annabelle was born December 28, 1920, in Mishawaka, to Samuel W. and Clara (Mrozinski) Freet. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lois (Freet) Blasko and Betty Ann (Freet) Goodsell; a brother, Herbert (Dorothy) Freet; and by a son, Gary L. (Marilyn) Imus. Annabelle is survived by three brothers, Samuel (Donna) Freet of LaPaz, Richard (JoAnn) Freet of South Carolina and Raymond Freet of Missouri. On December 23, 1950, in Elkhart, as the former Annabelle Imus, she married Virgil Jewell. In December of 2009 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Annabelle is survived by her loving husband, Virgil; four children, George (Sandra) Imus of Mishawaka, Leroy (Barbara) Imus of Niles, Michigan, V. Glen (Cindy) Jewell of South Bend and Betty (Jewell) Rink of South Bend. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, today, March 9th, from 4 until 8 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held at 8 p.m., with Chaplain Rob Ercoline officiating. As per Annabelle's wishes, cremation is to follow.
