MISHAWAKA - Estel Leo ''Bill'' Jewell, 80, of 125 W. Kline St., died at 3:30 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. He retired in 1978 from AM General Corp. after over 13 years of service as a supervisor. He was born April 8, 1913, in Farmersburg, Ind., and lived in South Bend since 1937, coming from Terre Haute, Ind.

 

On Sept. 25, 1943, in Cicero, Ill., he married Mildred P. Haynes. She survives, with a daughter, Betty Ann Campoli of Mishawaka; a son, William V. Baker of South Bend; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Stanley of Cave City, Ky. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, South Bend, Moose Lodge 58, South Bend, and Eagles Lodge 225, and was a veteran of World War II.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
