Carolyn M. Johnson

August 26, 1938July 27, 1981

 

Mrs. Carolyn M. Johnson, 42, of 920 Lancaster, died at 1:25pm Monday at Memorial Hospital, after a two-year illness.  She was secretary of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church until January of this year.

 

She was born on August 26, 1938, in Plymouth, and had lived here for 25 years, after coming from Walkerton.  On November 28, 1958, in South Bend, she married Clifford Austin Johnson, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Daniel Jay, a student at Purdue University, and Michael Joseph, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Jim (Betty) Ogle of Walkerton, Mrs. Ruth Oltman of South Bend, and Mrs. William (Erma) Purvis of Lakeville; and a brother, Clyde Lancaster Sr. of North Liberty.

 

Services will be at 11am Thursday at the Immanuel United Methodist Church.  Rev. Jon D. Grabner, pastor, will officiate, along with Rev. Larry Countryman, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Elkhart.  Burial will be in Sumption Prairie Cemetery.

 

Friends may call form 7 to 9p today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel, and fro 10 to 1am Thursday at the church.  She was a member and past president of the Immanuel Women’s Society.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
