MISHAWAKA - Edward Frederick Johnson, 81, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, in Golden Living Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was born on January 16, 1929, in Bremen, Indiana, to the late Herbert L. and Dorothy (Copp) Johnson. On September 7, 1950, in Mishawaka, Indiana, Edward married Barbara J. Dodd, who passed away on January 25, 2009, in Elkhart, Indiana. He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Johnson. Edward was formerly employed at South Bend Plastics and the Mishawaka Cab Company. He enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard and garden. Edward was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He leaves behind to cherish his memory four daughters, Gloria (Mike) Joachim of Osceola, Indiana, Lori (Don) White Jr. of Mishawaka, Indiana, Linda Burgh of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Kathy (Elliott) Colburn of Mishawaka, Indiana; a son, Herbert Johnson of Mishawaka, Indiana; eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; and a brother, William (Rose) Ewing of Mishawaka, IN. There will be no services. Elkhart Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 332 W. US Highway 30, Suite E, Valparaiso, IN 46385.
