Carol L. Jones

Sept. 26, 1930 - May 13, 2002

Mrs. Carol L. Jones, 71, of South Chestnut Street, South Bend, Ind., was taken from our midst on Monday, May 13, in her residence following a brief illness.

On Sept. 26, 1930, in Columbia, La., she was born to Malcomb Adams and Lula (Wiley) Adams, who both preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by a brother, Malcomb Adams Jr., and a sister, Evelyn Hudson. Carol graduated from Union Central High School in Columbia, and also attended one year of college at Grambling University. In December 1947 she was united in holy matrimony to Robert Jones, who also preceded her in death.

Coming from Columbia in 1950, she moved to South Bend, Ind. Carol was a member of the New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory six daughters, Brenda Wardlow and Barbara A. (Darryl) Brown, both of South Bend, Joanne Jones of Sidney, Ohio, Lisa (Charles) McLein of Memphis, Tenn., Sheri Jones and Carmen Warbington, both of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, Robert Jones and Thomas (Dorothea) Jones, both of South Bend, and Patrick Warbington of Indianapolis, Ind.; a stepfather, Walter Warbington of Highland Park, Ill.; a nephew, Andre Northern of South Bend; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carol L. Jones will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, in Alford's Mortuary, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
