Justin B. Jones

Justin B. Jones, 94, of Lindy Drive, Granger, Ind., and formerly of East Sorin Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mr. Jones was born July 20, 1902, in Hardin County, Ohio, to George and Huldah (Dry) Jones.

 

He was married on Sept. 14, 1927, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, to the former Antoinette M. LeBlanc, who survives. Mr. Jones was employed as a supervisor by the Studebaker Corporation from 1921 to 1964. He was also a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 435; a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church; a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; of St. Joseph's Harvest House; and of the Holy Name Society.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph and his wife Betty of Franklin, Tenn.; three daughters, Rita and her husband Daniel Wendel of Jacksonville, Fla., Joanne and her husband James Copeland of Anchorage, Alaska, and Nancy and her husband Christopher Thilman of Granger, Ind., with whom he and Antoinette resided; 11 grandchildren, Allison and Collin Thilman, Sheryn, Gregory, Jeffrey and Christopher Jones, Timothy and David Wendel and Elizabeth Wendel Corbitt, Rebecca and Phillip Copeland; and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Alvin and Ira Jones; by two sisters, Mrs. Knute (Bonnie) Rockne and Mrs. Joseph (Marie) Dierickx; and by a grandson, Thomas Copeland.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, Ind., with burial in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hickey Funeral Homes, 17131 Cleveland Road, where wake services will be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN, or to the Homeless Center, 813 S. Michigan, South Bend, IN.
