Florence Jozwiak, 85, of South Bend
passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2002, in her residence. Mrs.
Jozwiak was born on August 7, 1916, in South Bend, to the late
Julius and Stella (Witucki) Liwosz.
On January 25, 1947, as Florence Liwosz,
in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, South Bend, she married Ernest
(Lefty) Jozwiak, who preceded her in death on December 10, 1978.
Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Jozwiak was also
preceded in death by a sister, Carrie L. Lisk, and two
brothers, Robert R. and Jerome J. "Harry" Liwosz. She
is survived by a daughter, Christine (Thomas) Dixon of
South Bend; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Kevin and Matthew, all
of Indianapolis, Indiana; and five sisters-in-law, Theresa and
Delores Liwosz, Dorothy Pawlowski, Carrie L. Lisk,
and Leona and Florence (Ben) Jozwiak, all of South Bend.
Mrs. Jozwiak retired in 1983 from Kmart,
after nine years of employment with the company. She was a
parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church, South Bend. She was
also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Senior
Citizens Club of the Church. Mrs. Jozwiak was a member of the ZB
Falcons Nest #80.
Visitation will be from 2-8 PM, today, February 21, 2002, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where at 2:30 PM a combined Parish and Senior Citizens Club Rosary will be recited A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, February 22, 2002, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
