Jennie R. Jozwiak, 83, of Jackson Road, North Liberty, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at 1:53 a.m. at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born in Crumstown, Ind., on September 4, 1917, to Joseph Kowalewski and the former Mary Paturalski, both preceding her in death. On June 26, 1937, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Terre Coupe, she married Stanley C. Jozwiak, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sylvia (Robert) Downs of North Liberty, and Charlene (Frank) Bralick of South Bend; six grandchildren, Bob (Marcia) Downs, Bonnie (Richard) Stewart, Marianne (Darrell) Crane, Kim (Joe) Brough, Kelly (Greg) Goodzey, Mark (Stephanie) Bralick; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Wantuck and Florence Bilinski, both of South Bend; two brothers, Julius Kowalewski of Kenosha, Wis., and Raymond Kowalewski of South Bend. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Harry Kowalewski. Jennie had been employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company, and retired after many years of service. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church; the Altar & Rosary Society, and the Legion of Mary. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2001, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2001, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupe. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 55756 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, IN 46552-9734.
