SOUTH BEND - Theresa J. Jozwiak, 94, of South Bend, passed away on Monday, May 21, in Regency Place, South Bend. Theresa was born on Oct. 23, 1912, in South Bend, to the late Francis and Josephine (Maciejewski) Schoen.

 

On May 11, 1940, she married Blase Jozwiak in South Bend. She was preceded in death by her husband in January 2003, and by two sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her nieces, Darlene Heck, Sylvia Schoen, Norma Lis, Mary Jane Mowle, Diane Anton and Carol Root; her nephews, Ralph Schoen, Raymond Schoen, Robert Niezgodski and Carl Schoen; two sisters-in-law, Ernie and Caroline Bognar, and Leona Holewinski; and by her brother-in-law, Ervin and Mary Holewinski.

 

Theresa was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr, Harvest House, Confraternity of the Holy Rosary and the Apostleship of Prayer Society. She was always active and ready to travel. Theresa always attended Mass on Saturday evenings and then went out for dinner afterwards. She had been employed at the University of Notre Dame and at the St. Joseph County Clerk's office before retiring. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Strzelecki, Monique, Amy and Christina for the care given Theresa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 23, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church where friends and family may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
