Mrs. Ferdinand C. Kallies

            Mrs. Emma M. Kallies, 424 North Cushing Street, died of a heart attack at 11:50 p.m. Friday in her home.  She was born in Germany, April 22, 1863, and had lived in South Bend 26 years, coming here from Chicago.  Twenty-five years age in Chicago she was married to Ferdinand C. Kallies who survives.  Also surviving are two step-children, Mrs. Beatta Domke, Niles, Mich.  and Arno Kallies, Foley, Ala.;  eight grand-children and 12 great-grandchildren and three brothers, John Gaetfke, Calumet City, Ill.; Walter, South Bend, and Max, Gary, Ind.  Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Orvis funeral home.  The funeral will be held there at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.  Another funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oakwood cemetery, Chicago, where burial will take place.  Mrs. Kallies was a member of Community Congregational Church of Clay Township.  Rev. Paul C. Santa, Pastor, will conduct the funeral.
