Oct. 13, 1920-April 1, 1995 SOUTH BEND - Andrew F. Kalmar, 74, of Crown Hill Drive, died at 10:21 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Kalmar retired in 1985 after over 44 years as a tool and die maker for Adams Engineering. He was born Oct. 13, 1920, in South Bend and was a lifelong resident. On May 1, 1976 in South Bend, he married Lorraine J. Nowicki. She survives with two sons, Andrew F. Jr. of Cape Coral, Fla., and Daniel G. of Mishawaka, two step daughters, Roberta K. Harvey and Janice L. Laskowski, both of South Bend, nine grandchildren, four sisters, Marge Kalmar, Mary McCarthy and Barbara Kenna, all of South Bend, and Gizella Horwarth of Mishwaka; and a brother, George of South Bend. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
