Alex J. Kaminski: (South Bend Tribune 5/25/1978)

Alex J. Kaminski, 81, of 1809 S. Walnut, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday in the South Bend Nursing Home after a long illness. He retired in 1963 from the Bendix Corp. He was born on Feb. 25, 1897, in South Bend and lived here all his life. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hildegarde Zakrzewski and Mrs. Dolores Borsch, both of South Bend; three sons, Clem J. of LaPorte and Ernest A. and Clarence J., both of South Bend; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Kryza, Mrs. Lottie Nowicki, Mrs. Florence Melczek and Mrs. Mary Sopczynski, all of South Bend, and a brother, Stanley of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Friday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday. Kaminski was a member of Local 5, United Auto Workers.
