Sophia Kaminski: (Michigan City News Dispatch 7/27/2001)

LaPORTE — Sophia V. “Ginny” Kaminski, 82, LaPorte, died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday (July 25, 2001) at Fountainview Terrace Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. George M. Vrabely officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Kaminski was born April 17, 1919, in LaPorte, to Michael and Anna (Rzeznik) Garboski. On May 19, 1956, in LaPorte, she married Clem J. Kaminski who preceded her in death May 6, 1982.
Survivors include one son, Michael Rose, Chula Vista, Calif.; five grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Mrs. Kaminski in death were four sisters, Helen Moist, Wanda Barnes, Adeline Brown, and Frances Chapin; and one brother, Walter Garboski. Mrs. Kaminski retired from American Home Foods. She served as an Army WAC in World War II, as a medical technician.
