Devon J. ''Don'' Knepple, 76, of 16727 Donnell Lake Street, Vandalia, Mich., died at 5:01 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac, Mich.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1921, in Wakarusa, Ind., the son of Keith Knepple and Ethel Killian Knepple.

He married the former Donna L. Haines on Sept. 9, 1943, in Fresno, Calif. She survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Judy (Paul) Rutherford of Vandalia and Sharon Evans of Cassopolis, Mich.; a son, Donald ''Scott'' (Alyse) Knepple of Cassopolis; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite Poehlman of Cassopolis; and by two brothers, Max Knepple and Roger Knepple, both of Vandalia.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, William ''Gene,'' Robert, John and Kenneth Knepple.

He was a retired carpenter in the RV industry, and was an Army veteran of World War II.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at Birch Lake Cemetery, Calvin Township, Cass County, Mich. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Settle, pastor of the Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis, and Mr. Paul Parrish.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis.

Memorials may be made to either the American Heart Association or to the Birch Lake Cemetery Association.
