George Knoblock

Jan. 19, 1844 – Mar. 24, 1930

South Bend – George Knoblock, 86, pioneer mason contractor of the city, died at his residence, 1405 Linden avenue, after an illness of two days. General disability was the cause of death.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the residence of his son, Fire Chief Roy A. Knoblock, 310 East Dayton street. The Rev. Paul E. Benedict, pastor of St. Paul’s Methodist Episcopal Church, will have charge of the services.

 

Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.

 

Mr. Knoblock was born Jan. 19, 1844 in Alsace-Lorraine, France.

 

He is survived by his wife, five sons, Fire Chief Knoblock, George H., Edward E., Clinton A. and Frederick, all of South Bend, and Delbert G. Knoblock of River Forest, Ill., and one daughter, Mrs. John Mitchell, of Indianapolis.
