Mrs. Thekla D. Knoblock, 70, of 720 Cherry Tree Lane, died at 6:50 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Hospital after a lengthy illness.

 

She was born on May 22, 1908, in South Bend and was a lifetime resident.

 

On Nov. 24, 1932, in South Bend, she married Eugene C. Knoblock. He survives with a daughter, Mrs. Anne Louise Smith of Springfield, Va.; two grandchildren, and two brothers, Jack J. Detzler of South Bend and Dickson F. Detzler of Indianapolis.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William. Rev. Gary Forbes, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

 

Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 

She attended Indiana University. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and treasurer of its Women's Society; the Phi Mu Sorority; the Women's Board of Memorial Hospital, and treasurer of its Coffee Corner; the South Bend Country Club; the Morris Park Country Club; University Park, and the former Indiana Club.
