Mrs. Mary S. Kompar, 81, of 2019 S. Taylor St., died at 4 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital following a six month illness. Born June 7, 1889 in Rabkeczcol, Sopron Megye, Hungary, she came to South Bend from there 65 years ago. As Mary Szabo, she was married on November 18, 1907 in South Bend to Stephen Kompar, who died March 18, 1968. Surviving are a son, Stephen A. of South Bend, two daughters, Mrs. Richard Seidl of South Bend, and Mrs. Stephen Farkas of Ann Arbor, Michigan; five grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph Szabo of South Bend, and Louis Szabo and a sister, Mrs. Theresa Tuba, both of Hungary.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Zahoran Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Very Rev. Msgr. Elmer G. Peterson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Hospital Expansion Program.
