Zygmunt Kopczynski

June 2, 1925 -- April 9, 2003

                                        

Zygmunt "Ziggy" Kopczynski, 77, of Kathy Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:46 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 2, 1925, in South Bend, to Valentine and Martha (Jasinski) Kopczynski, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 24, 1951, in South Bend, he married Marcy Borlik, who survives him.

Surviving him is his wife, Marcy; two daughters, Kathleen (M. James) Clougherty of Felton, Del., and Linda (Tony) Neff of New Paris, Ind.; four grandchildren, Heather, Sean, Erin and Patrick; two sisters, Sally Karczewski of South Bend and Anne (Les) Szalay of Round Lake Beach, Ill.; and by a brother, Edward (Pat) Kopczynski of South Bend.

Ziggy belonged to St. John the Baptist Church, St. Joseph Young Men's Society and American Legion Post 357. After 23 years, he retired from Allied Products as a boiler mechanic. He was in the U.S. Navy during World Ward II, discharged in 1946.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14, in the St. John the Baptist Church. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
