John A. Kosek

June 15, 1940 - April 2, 1998

John A. Kosek, age 57, of E. Monroe St. South Bend, died at 5:36 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1940 in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. He was the owner/operator of Advanced Traffic Service for the past 10 years.

 

On September 15, 1962, in South Bend, he married Susan Rafalski who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Lori A. (Noe) Gonzales of South Bend, a son, Douglas J. (Rachel) Kosek of Mishawaka, his mother, Sally (Kalka) Kosek of South Bend, a grandchildren, Madison E. Gonzales of South Bend, and a sister, Kathy Kaylor of White Pigeon Michigan. Preceding Mr. Kosek in death was his father Stanley J. Kosek who died in 1973, and his brother Stanley J. Kosek who died in 1996.

 

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. today. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Little Flower Catholic Church of which he was a member. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mr. Kosek was an avid fisherman, beloved Dzia Dzia and an all around great man. He was a loving and caring husband and father, who always put other people ahead of himself.
