Services for Mrs. Frances Kotal, 81, of 30804 State Road 4, North Liberty, who died at 10:22 p.m. Saturday in LaPorte Hospital following an extended illness, will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Walkerton. Rev. Anthony Letko, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in South Bend.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the A,M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

She was born on July 10, 1901 if Panhagen, Austria, and had lived in the North Liberty area for 42 years after coming from Greene Twp.

Her husband Joseph Kotal Sr. died in 1950. She married Joseph Kotal August 27, 1932 in St. Joseph County.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mary Dooms and Mrs. Genevieve Semak, both of South Bend, Mrs. Helen Trippel and Mrs. Margaret VanDeKeere, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Hildegarde Firestone, of North Liberty; three sons, Joseph Kotal Jr., Frank Kotal and Henry Kotal, all of North Liberty; 27 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Women’s Club of the church, and was a charter member od Women’s Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1954 of North Liberty.
