Sister Veronica Mary CSC, 80, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the convent after a lengthy illness. Born Harriett Kotolinski on Sept. 11, 1899 in South Bend, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on June 24, 1927. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1928, and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1930. Throughout her community life she was assigned to housekeeping duties, serving at Our Saviour’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Ill., from 1932 to 1967, and at Our Lady of the Holy Cross Convent in South Bend, from 1967 to 1973. In 1973 she came to St. Mary’s Convent, where she remained until her death.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto on the St. Mary’s campus, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, also on the campus. Friends may call during the day until the services in the convent parlor, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. today.
