Marie E. Koutnik

Marie E. (Lisiecki) Koutnik, 90, of Orange Road, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday in Medco Center. Mrs. Koutnik was a retired self-employed seamstress.

 

She was born March 7, 1903, in Everson, Pa., and lived in South Bend most of her life.

 

On May 11, 1923, as Marie Kubiak, she married Roman (Fox) Lisiecki. He died in 1938. She is survived by three daughters, Reda Houghton of South Bend, Eleanor Moxson of Sarasota, Fla., and Evelyn Schrader of New Carlisle; a son, Eugene Fox of South Bend; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Harriet Skiba of California. A son, Elmer Fox, died in 1993.

 

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and member of American Turners.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
