Chester R. Koza, 76, of Country Knolls Drive, Granger, Ind., died at 11:20 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 4, in Memorial Hospital, following an illness.

Mr. Koza retired as a salesman for several food brokers in 1982. He was born, Aug. 3, 1920, in Kankakee, Ill. and moved to South Bend, Ind. in 1971 from Indianapolis. On Sept. 14, 1920, in South Bend, he married Marilee J. Knott, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Kristopher Koza of Kissimmee, Fla.; a sister, Kathryn Marth of Kankakee, Ill.; and a brother, Edwin Koza of Crete, Ill.

Two sisters preceded him in death.

There will be no services. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory with entombment of the cremains in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, in their residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437 or to the American Cancer Society, 404 Columbia St., South Bend, IN 46601.

Mr. Koza had been a member of the Edwardsburg, Mich. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and was an Army veteran of World War II. Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
