WALKERTON - Iva C. Kring, 77, of 803 Monroe Street, Walkerton, Ind., passed away following an illness at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, in the Hospice House, South Bend, Ind. Iva was born on Feb. 14, 1921, in South Bend, to Edward and Ethel (Fries) Smith, and had lived in the Walkerton area all of her life.

 

On May 2, 1938, she was married to Charles Amor, who died on Oct. 14, 1955. Then on June 6, 1957, she married Uriah ''Bud'' Kring, who died on March 28, 1994. Iva was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandra Bonifacius; and by a brother, Ralph Smith. Iva was retired from Austenal in LaPorte, Ind., and was a retired director of Real Services, Walkerton.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Al) Louderback and Kathy (Jim) Wyland, both of Walkerton; a stepdaughter, Karen (Randy) Johnson of Grovertown, Ind.; two sisters, Ruth Finch and Helen McEndarfer, both of North Liberty, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister-in- law, Charlotte Smith of New Carlisle, Ind.; an aunt, Helen Overton of Mishawaka, Ind.; and by several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (EST) on Thursday in the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. (EST) until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. The family request memorial contributions to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to St. John's Church, North Liberty.
