August Kronewitter

Wholly unexpected was the death yesterday afternoon at 1:10 of August Kronewitter, aged 29 years, at the Holy Family Hospital, LaPorte. His illness had been of only a few days’ duration, for he had worked on a farm near LaPorte, where he was employed , until Sunday. Taken suddenly sick, he was moved to the hospital Monday. Yesterday the hospital attendants felt sure that his recovery was eminent, but he failed fast right after noon.

 

Born Jan. 16, 1883 in Mishawaka, and educated in St. Joseph school, from where he graduated, Mr. Kronewitter, is well known in this city, particularly in Catholic circles. Most of his life had been spent in Mishawaka, although during the past few years he had resided in Goshen and LaPorte.

 

He was married in South Bend, April 25, 1907, to Miss Minnie Gilbert. Who survives. He also leaves three sisters, Misses Elizabeth and Mary Kronewitter, and Mrs. Frank Huba, all of Mishawaka; three brothers, John of this city, Henry of Uniontown, Pa., and John of Toledo, O.

 

The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 7:30 from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dean L. A. Moench, officiating. Internment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
