Frank D. Kronewitter Sr.

March 20, 1914 - Oct. 1, 2001

Frank D. Kronewitter Sr., 87, of Cary, Ill., died Monday, Oct. 1, in Alden Terrace, McHenry, Ill.

He was born March 20, 1914, in South Bend, Ind. He married Shirley Rolen on Feb. 14, 1941. He was the loving father of Craig L. Kronewitter of Cary and Frank D. Kronewitter III of San Diego, Calif., Jason C. Kronewitter of Chicago and Jonathan L. Kronewitter of McHenry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Charles Ray Kronewitter and Lizzie M. Anders; his twin brother, Joseph; as well as by seven other brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two sisters, Illah Gillen and Catherine Terry of Mishawaka, Ind.; and two brothers, Mike Kronewitter of South Bend and Ray Kronewitter of Atlanta, Ga.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Berrien Springs, Mich., American Legion. He retired from the Eaton Corporation in 1976. As a young man he participated in the Civilian Conservation Corps and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Memorial and interment will be private.
