James L. Kronewitter Jr.

MISHAWAKA - James L. Kronewitter Jr., 55, passed away at 2:40 pm Friday, August 30, 2013, in South Bend, IN. He was born to James and Dorothy (Weaver) Kronewitter Sr. on September 28, 1957, in Mishawaka, IN. Surviving family includes his sons, Joshua L (Cassie) Kronewitter, Jason W. (Mallory) Kronewitter, Justin N. Kronewitter, and Ryan P. Kronewitter; one brother, Joseph Kronewitter; two sisters, Doris (Quint) Shipley and Debra (Robert) Minder; 6 nieces and 3 nephews. James was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1976 where he participated in both Track and Field and Cross Country. He held the school and city record for the fastest mile in 1975-1976 at 4:25.6 He also held the school's Cross Country record for the fastest 2.5 miles at 12:27 that same year. After graduation, James began his career as a tool and dye maker. His career spanned over 25 years during which time he held positions at R & M Manufacturing and Federal Mogul among others. He was a true outdoorsman and was happiest when hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. James was a true man of God, and was a beloved father, son and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., with visitation one hour before the service, on Sunday, September 29th, at Hope Community Church in Niles, MI, with Reverend Monte A.
