OSCEOLA - Leah R. M. (Cunningham) Kubik, 29, passed away just two weeks before her 30th birthday. She died early Thursday morning, September 10, 2009, after a tragic accident. Leah was a resident of Toronto, Ontario Canada, and formerly of Osceola, IN. Leah will always be remembered for her independent spirit and eccentric nature. She had a deep love for her family and friends, and a passion for people, travel, and adventure. Leah told the most interesting and humorous stories, often while wearing one of her many fabulous hats. Survivors include father, Greg Cunningham of Elkhart, IN, mother and stepfather, Susan and Charles Strantz of Osceola, IN, sisters, Joy Cunningham of Osceola, IN, Elizabeth Cunningham of Asheville, NC, Katie Cunningham of Osceola, IN, Mercy Beveridge of Asheville, NC, grandfather Samuel Jamieson of Granger, IN, grandparents Dale and Willa Cunningham of Mishawaka, IN, former husband and close friend, Joseph Kubik of Toronto, Ontario, and dearest friend, Ruth Butler of Erie, PA. She also left behind two beloved cats, Pumpkin and Lester of Toronto. Friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, September 19, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN. Services will follow immediately at 4 pm.
