Stanley Darling Kuespert

Stanley Darling Kuespert, 79, of Garden Lane, South Bend, Ind., died at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, in his residence.

 

He was born on Jan. 2, 1919, in South Bend, and lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Kuespert was preceded in death by his parents, and by two sisters, Doris Elizabeth Amsler and Norva Jean Kuespert.

 

He retired from X-Cel Controls. Mr. Kuespert owned and operated Kuespert Appliance Service for many years.

He was married on Aug. 23, 1941, in South Bend, to C. Maxine Laughman, who survives. Mr. Kuespert graduated in 1937 from Central High School. Stan and Maxine received the Central High School Spirit Award in 1997.

 

He is also survived by three daughters, Karen Lane and Kathleen Heinrich, both of South Bend, and Norva Berggren of Plymouth, Ind.; two sons, Stanley ''Rusty'' (Elaine) Kuespert of Huntsville, Ala., and Dennis (Elaine) Kuespert of Mishawaka, Ind.; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, W. Art Kuespert of Fort Myers, Fla., K. Clem Kuespert of South Bend; and a special family friend, Brenda Cencush of South Bend.

 

He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 58.

 

Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. The Loyal Order of Moose will conduct services at 7 p.m. today. Services will also be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Beyer officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
