Anthony M. Kuhar

SOUTH BEND - Anthony M. "Tony" Kuhar, 87, passed away at 1:06 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, in Memorial Hospital. Tony was born on May 31, 1922, in South Bend, to Martin and Mary (Miholich) Kuhar. He was employed by Studebaker, Burcliff Industries and retired from State Tool. Mr. Kuhar was a World War II Army veteran, a member of American Legion 357 and St. Jude Catholic Church. On October 19, 1946, in South Bend, he married the former Olga Horvath, who survives along with a daughter, Mary Ann (Richard) Pishnoff of Osceola, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by a sister, Veronica Jerebic, and three brothers, Stephen "Steve" Kuhar, Joseph S. Kuhar and Frank Kuhar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, in St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Church building fund, to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association .
