Alvin F. Kukla Sr.

OSCEOLA - Alvin F. Kukla Sr., 76, of 55154 Caldwell Drive, died at 5:20 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, after an illness. Mr. Kukla retired in 1978 from Transamerican Freight Lines and was a former employee of Pence, Dickens & Heeter. He was born Jan. 4, 1918, in South Bend.

 

On May 11, 1946, in South Bend, he married Marie T. Gatski. She survives with a daughter, Linda Primmer of South Bend; two sons, Alvin F. Jr. of Mishawaka and Robert of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Adell Yost of Orlando, Fla., and Mary Lou Johnson of Bristol; and three brothers, Edward Sr. of South Bend, Ralph of Eatontown, N.J., and his twin, Frank J. Jr. of Buchanan.

 

He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Disabled American Veterans, Teamsters Union Local 364, South Bend, and was a veteran of World War II.

 

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church. Cremation will take place, with entombment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. There will be no visitation.
